Nazmi Can Baytok

Mr. Baytok is Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Ticaret Menkul Degerler AS, a leading Turkish Brokerage and Securities Firm and is a founding partner of BBF Partners.
He is also a co-founder and the current chairman of Ton-Ko Komunikasyon Hizmetleri AS in Istanbul, Turkey. Ton-Ko, due to be launched in late 2006, is a new telecommunications carrier that will design, build and operate Turkey's first facilities-based, next-generation, fiber optic network.
Mr. Baytok has over 17 years experience as financier in the energy, finance, commodities trading, publishing and telecommunications sectors. He has held senior positions as analyst, editor, trader, portfolio manager, merchant banker, business executive and public policy advisor in the USA, Northern Europe and Turkey. He has also been heavily involved in the development and management of entrepreneurial initiatives with a particular emphasis on initiatives with a niche market focus.
Previous experience includes his time as advisor to the Minister of Transportation and Communications of Turkey where he was instrumental in the development of key governmental telecommunications policies. He was chairman of Equinox Finance Limited in Dublin, Ireland, an investment firm he co-founded that was involved in merchant banking, treasury and funds management. Prior to this he was a proprietary trader at Morgan Stanley & Co. and was responsible for managing a $250 million cross-market arbitrage portfolio of resource based equities, commodities, fixed-income instruments, currencies and derivative securities. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Baytok was an editor and analyst for Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, widely considered to be the most important publication in the oil industry.
He holds a B.B.A. in Finance from The George Washington University in Washington D.C. He is fluent in English, French and Turkish and has a working knowledge of German
